Our 27th season closes with a program to include the world premiere of a new Voce commission by a leading American composer. We will also revisit some of the best of Voce’s previous commissions—a distinguished catalogue of works which have made an essential contribution to the world of contemporary American choral music. We situate this important element of our history within the broader context of American choral music in the 20th century, with a selection of works to include Bernstein’ Chichester Psalms, Barber’s Reincarnations, the Five Shaker Lyrics of Karen Tarlow, and works of Boston-basedcomposer Rodney Lister.
