The pages of human history are imprinted with tales of 'hard times.' Voce Chamber Singers’ spring concert presents songs of hope, comfort and courage that are sure to resonate in each of our lives. With music by Eric Whitacre, Franz Schubert, Simon & Garfunkel, Craig Hella Johnson, Doyle Lawson and more, this program reaches into the heart and soul of our human condition, drawing on chapters throughout history and across cultural landscapes. In songs of triumph and resilience, we reflect upon those who have touched our lives in their service to a higher calling. Whether it’s braving life’s storms or proclaiming God’s greatness, no one will leave this concert untouched.
Voce is dedicating this concert to Herndon-Reston FISH (Friendly Instant Sympathetic Help), which helps local residents through short-term crises. Donations to Herndon-Reston FISH will be gratefully accepted at the door of the concert for those who would like to contribute.
Under the direction of Dr. Kenneth Nafziger, Voce Chamber Singers performs music from around the globe and of all musical periods. Voce has been hailed by The Washington Post and featured as a 'best bet' on WETA-TV. Voce has performed at the Smithsonian Castle, The National Theatre, the U.S. Botanic Gardens, the Kennedy Center and Wolf Trap, and was the subject of a worldwide radio broadcast on Voice of America's "Kaleidoscope" program. For more than 20 years, Voce Chamber Singers has presented the highest caliber chamber choral music, educational outreach and newly commissioned choral works in the Washington, D.C. area.
