Voce's
Mission:
To provide the highest caliber of chamber choral music
for the metropolitan Washington area.
Voce
is under the direction of Dr. Kenneth Nafziger and is recognized
as one of the Washington area's premier chamber choral groups, earning
high praise from The Washington Post and others. Voce's 22 choral
artists annually perform a diverse concert series featuring chamber
choral music from all over the globe, from early chant to newly
commissioned works.
Founded
in 1989, Voce has performed at the Kennedy Center, Williamsburg's
Bruton Parish, and St. Thomas More Cathedral, as well as with the
Washington Symphony and the Amadeus Orchestra. Voce was nominated
for the Governor's Awards for the Arts 2000 in the Commonwealth
of Virginia, and was honored at the Arts Council of Fairfax County's
'A Call to the Arts Celebration 2001.' Voce has been featured as
a 'best bet' on WETA-TV's "About Town" broadcast television
program, and was the subject of a half-hour worldwide radio broadcast
on Voice of America's "Kaleidoscope" radio program in
April 2000.
